On the inner surface of the skull is there a well-demarcated, rounded, firm, solitary mass that is attached to the dura.
Diagnosis: Meningioma
Risk factors:
- Ionizing radiation
Theory:
In most cases, meningiomas are benign and don’t infiltrate other tissues, causing problems because of compression of the brain. High-grade forms of meningioma (anaplastic meningioma) are very rare.
Our professor said it never infiltrates the skull :/
Never say never, grade III anaplastic meningiomas definitely can, but it’s very very rare, so I’ll change the topic.
