Organ: Brain, brainstem, cerebellum

Description:

Along the posterior aspect of the brainstem there is a greyish-yellowish, necrotic, fragile tumor. The tumor has obliterated part of the cerebellum and the fourth ventricle.

Diagnosis: Medulloblastoma

Risk factors:

  • Young children

Theory:

Medulloblastoma is the most common CNS tumor in childhood. It has a poor prognosis as it is by definition a grade IV embryonal tumor.
