Description:
Two sections of a liver can be seen. Both sections contain a dark purplish area and a brownish area.
Diagnosis: Cavernous haemangioma of the liver
Causes:
- Oral contraceptives
Theory
The brownish parts show the normal liver parenchyme.
The dark purplish parts show the haemangioma. It’s purplish because it contains blood.
