Description:

There is a melanoma on the retinal surface of the eyeball.

Diagnosis: Ocular melanoma

Risk factors:

  • Nothing special

Theory:

Ocular or uveal melanoma arise from the choroidal melanocytes. The tumor can arise in the choroid, iris or ciliary body. Ocular melanoma actually has a better prognosis than skin melanoma, as it metastasizes less frequently.
